Catalog description

Introduction of various natural dye processes for textiles using native plants, locally cultivated and/or foraged plants, and some imported natural dye materials. Various techniques will be covered including printing, and dyeing with natural dyes, earth pigments, and indigo. Historical, cultural, and contemporary perspectives in naturally dyed textiles will be examined through research, readings, critiques, and discussions. Open to all university students.
