This course offers an introductory overview of Hispanic cultures, focusing on the political, economic, social, linguistic, and artistic development that shaped the historical and cultural bonds between Latin America and Spain. Enhances the cultural competence acquired in previous Spanish classes and prepare students for upper-level work in the major. Taught in Spanish. Prerequisite: SPAN 323, or SPAN 324 and SPAN 328, or SPAN 325. A grade of B- or higher in SPAN 323 or SPAN 324 or SPAN 325 is strongly recommended for students enrolling in this course. Concurrent enrollment in SPAN 340 is strongly recommended. Satisfies: Foreign Language Proficiency (FP)
