The course focuses on the unique considerations clinical pharmacists must address when caring for critically ill patients. Students will explore key principles of pharmacokinetics, physiology, and pharmacotherapy essential to managing these complex cases. Lectures will highlight real-world disease states and scenarios encountered in clinical practice, emphasizing the integration of data collection, patient assessment, treatment plan development, and monitoring strategies. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to evaluate and manage patient-specific pharmacotherapy plans in various critical care settings. Prerequisite: Students must have third year professional standing in the School of Pharmacy.
