Catalog description
Honors treatment of this course exposes the student to the role of general management in complex organizations. The cases, conceptual materials, and projects are selected to provide the student with decision-making opportunity in major areas of managerial concern: environmental opportunities and constraints, formulation of business policy, and policy implementation mechanisms. Knowledge and skills gained in previous business courses, including marketing, finance, and quantitative methods, will be applied to problems associated with the totality of organizational activity. Only open to students admitted to the University Honors Program, the Business Honors Program, or permission of the instructor. Prerequisite: FIN 310 or FIN 311; BUS 215 or IST 310; MGMT 310 or MGMT 311; MKTG 310 or MKTG 311, BSAN 310 or BSAN 311, and SCM 310 or SCM 311, Senior standing (90 hours completed). Completion of Business Professional Development Program requirements, including BUS 110, BUS 210, BUS 230 or ACCT 230 or BSAN 230 or FIN 230 or IST 230 or MGMT 230 or MKTG 230 or SCM 230 or SCM 232, points requirement, and experiential learning requirement.
