Law - Criminal Prosecution Field Pla

Catalog description

Students in the Criminal Prosecution Field Placement gain courtroom experience working side by side with prosecutors in federal, state, and local offices in virtually all phases of the criminal justice process. In addition to appearing regularly in court on behalf of the prosecution, interns work closely with law enforcement agencies in developing cases, preparing trial court documents, and drafting appellate briefs. Students may earn between 3 and 6 credit hours during a semester, including the summer semester. (A student may earn 9 credit hours total, in the Criminal Prosecution Field Placement Program.) The course will be graded on a credit/no credit basis. Prerequisite: LAW 908 and Qualification under Kansas Rule 715 for legal intern permit or another state's equivalent intern permit.
