Law - Biosecurity in 21st Century

Catalog description

This course introduces students to biosecurity, bioterrorism, and biodefense procedures. It includes an overview of pathogen, microbes, zoonoses, and disease ecology. The course will focus on human, animal, and plant purposeful and accidental introduction of pathogens which have shaped human history global politics. Several case studies will demonstrate the potential overall effect of these events. Mind maps, reflective journal entries, and critical thinking conceptual framework are just a few of the academic activities used within the instruction of this course. Not open to students with credit in EVRN 720. Prerequisite: Permission required from the Director of Homeland Security: Law and Policy.
