Catalog description

This course introduces students to key concepts in media management and economics, focusing on how leadership, production and sustainability shape today’s media industries. Students explore how media organizations create, distribute and support content across multiple platforms. Using real-world case studies, the course examines strategies for developing audiences, generating revenue and adapting to changes in the digital media environment, including the proliferation of artificial intelligence. Prerequisite: JMC 420, JMC 415, JMC 430 or JMC 340 and junior standing (60 hours completed), or permission of instructor.
