Catalog description

This course introduces students to the practical and scientific foundations of healthy eating. Emphasizing real-world applications, the course develops essential skills such as interpreting nutrition labels, creating balanced food budgets, making informed grocery and dining choices, and evaluating nutrition information in the media. Students will learn to distinguish credible nutrition science from misinformation by analyzing research articles and assessing expert claims. The course also provides an overview of the nutrition curriculum at KU and explores related academic and career pathways in health and wellness.
