Gynecology and Obstetrics - Transgender Medicine & Surgery

Catalog description
The transgender medicine and surgery elective is a four-week rotation for fourth-year medical students to gain increased exposure to multidisciplinary transgender health care. The rotation includes both inpatient surgical and outpatient experiences. Medical education in transgender health can empower physicians to identify and change the systemic barriers to care that cause transgender health inequities, as well as improve knowledge about transgender-specific care. Prerequisites: GYNO 900; permission of instructor.
