Catalog description

The urogynecology clerkship is a four-week rotation for fourth-year medical students to get increased exposure to the urogynecology clinic and surgery. This clerkship will allow the medical student to develop skills in research in women's health and reproduction. The student will partner with a faculty mentor and gain experience, which may include, but is not limited to, literature review, data analysis, data entry, chart review, IRB proposals, HERON, REDCAP, manuscript preparation, and journal article submission. In addition, students may be facilitating clinical research through providing informed consent and recruiting study participants. Finally, the student may have a dual mentorship with a PhD scientist to further their skills in the basic laboratory setting. This course fulfills the Subinternship Selective Requirement. Prerequisite: GYNO 900; Permission of instructor.
