Catalog description
Basic identification and properties of rocks and minerals in the context of whole-earth structure and evolution. Includes basic chemical equilibria for rock and mineral systems and their bearing on processes involved with formation and evolution of Earth's crust, mantle, and core. Two lectures and one lab per week. Prerequisite: GEOL 101, CHEM 130, and eligibility for MATH 125 or MATH 115. Satisfies: Lab and Field Experiences (LFE)
