An introduction to the physical and biological history of the earth, the methods used to decipher earth history, and the development of the geological sciences. Concurrent enrollment in GEOL 103 or GEOL 100 is recommended for students taking both. Not open to students who have taken GEOL 304. Satisfies: Goal 3 Natural Sciences (GE3N) , Natural and Physical Sci Lec (NLEC)
