A theory-based and practice-centered course aimed at providing an understanding of the governance and administration of academic institutions -- particularly universities. Emphasis is directed toward an analysis of decision-making in these complex organizations. Additionally, the course content will provide students with a broad base of learning experiences related to leadership and leadership development. Leadership is contextually-bound and socially-constructed; thus, there will be attention to understanding cultural dimensions, critical perspectives, and considerations for social justice.
