Catalog description

This introduction to radiology is an imaging-rich rotation where students will become familiar with each of the diagnostic radiology subspecialties, including basic imaging interpretation, reading room structure, and protocols. The student will rotate through all diagnostic radiology subspecialties, including body, neuro, ultrasound, musculoskeletal, breast, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine. Students will spend time in the Radiology Learning Lab, which includes asynchronous learning modules, resident and attending-led didactic conferences, and practice cases on PACS. In addition, students will get hands-on experience with ultrasound and, potentially, ultrasound-guided procedures; scanning and protocoling cases with our radiology technologists; and a review of MRI safety. Students will participate in weekly team conferences, including a final case presentation, as well as multi-disciplinary tumor boards. Prerequisite: Medical Basic Sciences.
