Catalog description

Effective educators use a variety of ways to affirm learners as individuals by uncovering their experiences, strengths, aspirations and interests. They create opportunities for learners to share questions, concerns, and feedback, while establishing norms and boundaries that ensure students feel valued and safe interacting with them and with each other. In this competency, you will learn how to collect contextual information on the learning environment and about individual learners. By analyzing and reflecting on this information, you will develop a set of principles that will guide a design of norms and practices for your future classroom that can motivate learning through authentic relationships. Domain C: Meeting Individual Needs.
