This course explores innovative approaches to criminal justice that focus on reducing incarceration rates through alternative sentencing, rehabilitation programs, and successful re-entry strategies. Students will examine the effectiveness of community-based corrections, restorative justice practices, and rehabilitation programs designed to address the root causes of criminal behavior. Through course content, case studies, and guest lectures, participants will gain insights into the challenges and successes of reintegrating formerly incarcerated individuals into society.
