Chemistry - Chemistry for Chem Sciences I

Catalog description
The first course in a two-course sequence focused on the principles and applications of modern chemistry. This integrated lecture and laboratory course is designed for students pursuing or considering a major in one of the chemical sciences (such as chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or petroleum engineering). The CHEM 170/CHEM 175 course sequence covers the same general topics as CHEM 130/CHEM 135, but with an increased emphasis on modern applications of chemistry. Students with credit in CHEM 110 will have two hours added on to their total number of hours required for graduation. Prerequisite: Eligibility for MATH 115. Satisfies: Goal 3 Natural Sciences (GE3N) , Lab and Field Experiences (LFE) , Natural and Physical Sciences (NPS) , BA Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
