Catalog description
A laboratory course that provides hands-on experience with classical genetics and modern molecular genetics. Experiments involve Mendelian genetics (dominance/recessivity, complementation, segregation, independent assortment) in eukaryotic organisms; recombinant DNA; basic bacterial genetics; polymerase chain reaction; DNA sequencing; and computational genetics. Not open to students with credit in BIOL 405. Formerly known as BSCI 351. Prerequisite: Concurrent or prior enrollment in BSCI 350, BTEC 350 or BIOL 350.
