Business Analytics - Statistical Decision Making

Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to data gathering and analysis with an emphasis on problem solving for decision making and process improvement in a business setting. The role of numerical data in the understanding of business problems and in the evaluation of planned improvements is studied, along with the study of variation commonly occurring in business processes and methods of reducing this variation. Statistical software is used to supplement data analysis and aid in the problem solving. Topics covered may include statistical methods such as exploratory data analysis, graphical analysis, Pareto analysis, stratification analysis, confidence intervals, correlation, linear regression, and control charts.
