Catalog description

Introduces students to the key business, computational, and data competencies needed by business analysts for effective data-driven decision making. The course focuses on how structured as well as unstructured "big data" can be used to help decision makers improve organizational competitiveness. Students learn fundamental skills for business analytics: data manipulation, data visualization, and statistical methods to gain experience with different software tools used for data analysis and reporting. Not open to students with credit in BSAN 440 or IST 495. Prerequisite: IST 328, IST 326, or BSAN 326. Enrollment restricted.
