Catalog description
Fundamental principles of microbiology with emphasis on physical and chemical properties of the bacterial cell; microbial metabolism, cultivation, growth and death of bacteria; microbial genetics, pathogenesis and immunity, industrially important microorganisms. Not open to students with credit in BTEC 402. Prerequisite: BIOL 150 or BIOL 151 with a grade of C- or higher and two semesters of college chemistry with a grade of C- or higher, or consent of the instructor. Satisfies: Goal 3 Natural Sciences (GE3N)
