This course examines how past environments continue to shape modern health disparities and inform medical practice, and asks: Why do we get sick? How have ancestral environments influenced disease vulnerability? By applying evolutionary theory to topics such as infectious disease, chronic illness, and mental health, students will gain new perspective on health and medicine today.
