Fiber materials, tapes, cloths, resin systems; general aeolotropic theory, elastic constants, matrix formulation; computer analysis, strength, theory of failure; introduction to design with composites, preliminary design, optimization, processing variables, product design. Prerequisite: AE 508 or AE 509 or CE 761, and CHEM 150 or CHEM 130 and CHEM 149. Corequisite: AE 510 or ME 306 or CE 710.
