Catalog description
This course enables students to apply the theoretical framework developed in years 1 and 2 of the ACE curriculum to the patient care activities in which they participate during third-year clerkships. Through small group discussions, students examine the ethical, legal, and social aspects of medical practice and the application of key principles to clinical practice. Topics include bias, racism, conflicts of interest, financial incentives in medical practice, and serving diverse communities. Students are evaluated through written assignments and participation in small group discussions.
