Catalog description

A one- or two-semester practicum providing supervised opportunities in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based environments. Students will be trained and supervised to implement assessment and intervention procedures for socially significant behavior change in adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, collect data and make data-based decisions, and conduct training to support staff working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students are also required to read relevant literature and participate in weekly meetings to discuss the literature and progress on assessment and intervention procedures. Meets capstone course requirement for degree. Prerequisite: ABSC 350 or ABSC 380 and instructor permission. Satisfies: Goal 6 Outcome 1 (AE61) , BGS Career Course (BGSC) , Capstone (CAP)
