This course is taught at a study abroad site. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the history of Spain, placed within a European and international context. After evaluating the impact of Roman, Visigoth, and Muslim rule on Spain, Spanish contributions and responses to historical phenomena including the Renaissance, Reformation, Napoleonic Wars, Enlightenment, industrialization, fascism, and the European Community will be considered.
