Catalog description

This is a survey course which presents the historical, philosophical and legal foundations (IFSP, IEP, 504 plan) of special education (birth to adulthood). The course analyzes topics that impact students from early childhood through high school. There will be a review of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Students will discuss characteristics of individuals with disabilities as well as the diverse populations they belong to. This course is part of the Illinois Gateways to Opportuni
