This course will focus on the life of micro-organisms to include their organization, functions, metabolic processes, growth, control, genetics, evolution, and ecology. A study of diseases caused by pathogens, the host immunological response, and the role of microorganisms in the environment also will be examined, along with advances in their use in biotechnology.
