NUR420 Nursing Care of the Older Adult

Catalog description

This course is designed to educate students on the unique needs of the older adult using a holistic approach. Following an overview of the aging process, students will deliver a direct-care experience that explore strategies and interventions to support safe and effective outcomes for older adults in a variety of settings. Students will complete a holistic assessment, incorporating recommendations in an individualized plan of self-care. The special needs of hospice and end of life care, as well as legal and ethical issues will be considered.
