Catalog description

Informatics is identified by the Institute of Medicine and the Quality and Safety in Educating Nurses as a key initiative and competency required for nurses across all specialties and levels of practice. In exploring the concepts of informatics and data management, the role of the informatics nurse in practice, research and administration will be identified. Students will apply their learning via clinical hours to a real-world project to implement a technological solution to improve quality and/or safety in a practice setting.
