Catalog description
This course provides an overview of the biology of microorganisms. Subjects taught will include the anatomy, physiology, taxonomy, genetics, medical significance, and responses of the human body to bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasitic organisms. The student will learn the application of principles of microbiology in the health care environment, including the identification, control, and prevention of infectious agents.
