Liberal Arts Class Hours: 6 class hours per week and 9 clinical hours per week. Semester Credit Hours: 9 This course emphasizes the individual as a unique physical being with multiple physiologic and psychosocial needs. The concepts of patient-centered care, safe patient outcomes, fundamental nursing communication, patient information confidentiality, the nurse’s role in the healthcare team, and evidence-based practice are introduced in the course. The nursing process is introduced along with fundamental nursing skills. Prerequisite(s): BIO 2514 , BIO 2524 , BIO 2924 , and MAT 1313 Prerequisite(s)/Co-requisite(s): FCS 1253
