Career and Technical Education Class Hours: 2 hours lecture and 2 hours lab. Semester Credit Hours: 3 An introductory course in the foundational concepts of the Emergency Medical Services. Lecture will include topics in the history of EMS, well-being of the EMT, medical-legal issues, communication, documentation, A&P, Pathophysiology, life-span development, patient assessment, and vital signs. Laboratory experience will include training in patient assessment and vital signs. Prerequisite(s): Composite ACT of 16 or higher, 18 years of age or older and selection by the interview committee
