Catalog description

This course will provide students the understanding of the complex social, cultural, and psychological factors that shape consumer behavior in contemporary society. Students will explore the role of consumer culture in shaping individual identities, social structures, and global economies. Through a sociological lens, the course delves into the ways in which consumption is not just an economic activity but also a cultural practice that influences and is influenced by various social forces, including advertising, media, social class, and globalization.
