Catalog description
This course utilizes the art and science of nursing including the principles of the nursing process, QSEN competencies, and the NCSBN test plan to acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the care of patients with health alterations. Some concepts include cellular regulation, perfusion, immunity, glucose regulation and inflammation. Students will gain knowledge in pharmacology related to specific disease processes. The clinical portion of this course introduces and implements clinical reasoning skills. It continues the practice and application of assessment, communication, and psychomotor skills in practice settings focusing on patients with chronic and acute health care needs.
