This course is the second semester of a two-semester course in general chemistry intended for students majoring in chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, pre-dentistry, pre-medicine, pre-pharmacy, pre-veterinary medicine, or anyone planning to take two years of chemistry. The course content includes thermodynamics, kinetics, acid base theory, equilibrium, redox reactions, electrochemistry, spectroscopy and bonding of coordination compounds, and topics in descriptive inorganic chemistry and nuclear chemistry. Laboratory complements these topics. Students who are pregnant or may become pregnant during the course of the semester are strongly advised to consult their doctor before enrolling in this course.
