Catalog description

This course is an in-depth investigation into the principles of psychopharmacology from a clinical case perspective. Principles of action, efficacy, and safety of psychotropic drugs in treating psychiatric and behavioral disorders are focal points. An inquiry into the etiology and diagnosis of major mental disorders is examined. Emphasis is on modification of baseline neurotransmitter systems by current treatment protocols and medications under development. Offered at Providence 3 Semester Credits
