This course includes a thorough foundation in the process of portfolio management, from individual security evaluation to broad asset allocation decision making. Topics covered include the portfolio management process including asset allocation, benchmarking, evaluation and reporting, as well as the manner in which trading takes place. An analysis of alternative assets is also explored including real estate, investment companies, private equity and venture capital, hedge funds, closely-held securities, distressed securities, tangible assets, commodities and derivatives. Prerequisite(s): FISV3001 , MATH2001 . Offered at Providence 3 Semester Credits
