Sports Writing

Catalog description

This course provides students with the opportunity to pursue the evolving world of sports writing. Students explore the history of sports writing from its early days to its current incarnation. Students study the masters, past and present, and then produce their own articles in print and online. The course further covers the genre's societal significance and how new media have changed coverage. Course work includes lectures, writing workshops and critiques. Prerequisite(s): ENG1021 or ENG1027 . Offered at Providence 3 Semester Credits
