Strategies for Teaching Science

Catalog description

Pre-service teachers critically analyze and develop science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework. Teacher candidates review science content as they synthesize the Next Generation Science Standards to determine enduring understandings that are critical for real-world application. Emphasis is placed on the incorporation of the eight science and engineering practices within inquiry-based science experiences. Teacher candidates are required to demonstrate high levels of reflection to connect current research to observations in lab experiences. Prerequisite(s): EDUC6120 .
