Catalog description
Physical therapists are well-positioned to meet societal needs and reduce the global burden of non-communicable diseases by integrating evidence-based health prevention, wellness, and population health strategies into practice. This course explores behavior change theories for individuals and populations, motivational interviewing, nutrition, sleep, stress, physical activity promotion, and other health promotion topics. This course prepares students to meet APTA’s (American Physical Therapy Association) consensus-based competencies in population health and health promotion and wellness. Prerequisite(s): DPT7400 . Offered at Providence 2 Semester Credits
