Offender Assessment and Case Management

Catalog description

This course provides students with both theoretical knowledge and practical application of the various evidence-based risk assessment tools, classification of offenders, writing court reports, utilizing motivational interviewing skills, and conducting interviews with offenders receiving some form of correctional treatment. It also provides students with knowledge about mental health and substance use issues affecting correctional populations. Prerequisite(s): CJS2040 , junior status.
