Catalog description

This course examines musculoskeletal, connective tissue, endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, auditory, visual, cardiopulmonary and mental conditions as they relate to people’s ability to move within, sense and respond to their physical and social environments. Students examine the impact of these conditions on occupational performance and quality of life. Students learn the signs and symptoms of conditions, how they are managed medically, and how they can be prevented. They explore the scientific evidence regarding genetic, biologic, traumatic and social causes of the conditions.
