Catalog description

This course covers the basics of building information modeling (BIM). Users are introduced to the concepts of Building Information Modeling and the tools for parametric building design and documentation. Users begin with learning the fundamental features of BIM, and then progress through schematic design, construction documentation, and design visualization. This course offers both imperial and metric hands?on exercises representing real?world architectural design scenarios. This class is designed to teach you the BIM functionality as you would work with it in the design process. Student will begin by learning about the user interface and the BIM commands for design development, followed by those available for construction documentation. Upon completion the student will be able to create basic 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings.
