Catalog description

A microscopic study of engineering materials, with emphasis on acquiring basic knowledge of microstructure and processes that relate to properties and performance of engineering materials, including metals, polymers, and ceramics. The interactive relationship between structure, properties, and processing of materials will be emphasized. Laboratory experiences emphasize materials testing and technical writing. One two-hour laboratory per week. This lab must be taken with ME 2562. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
