Catalog description

Elementary candidates will study methods and materials for teaching elementary social studies content through Arkansas State Social Studies Standards. Emphasis will be placed on how an elementary classroom teacher integrates social studies instruction content throughout the school day. Candidates will learn through social studies lenses that focus on the narrower and more manageable viewpoint of self and personal experience, expanding to community, state, nation, and ultimately to a broader worldview. Embedded clinical experience is required.
