Catalog description

This introductory course explores database modeling and schema design for software applications. Students begin with the fundamentals of database systems, including data modeling, schema design, and SQL query development. The course also introduces key concepts such as data storage, query optimization, transaction management, and concurrency control. In addition, students are exposed to different flavors of database systems and gain an understanding of advanced topics in databases. An additional fee may be associated with this course.
