Catalog description

Prerequsite: Entrance into the Veterinary Technology Program and reading proficency Corequisites: VAT101, and VAT113 Medical Math I introduces mathematical concepts and calculations commonly used in veterinary practice. Students will develop proficiency in basic arithmetic, measurement conversions, dosage calculations, fluid rate determinations, nutrition amounts, and solution dilutions relevant to veterinary medicine. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, critical thinking, and application of math skills to real-world clinical scenarios. This foundational course prepares students for safe and effective medication administration and further study in veterinary pharmacology and clinical procedures. (F)
