Prerequisite: Reading proficiency Introduction to Social Work offers an introduction to the profession of social work, including its history, values, theories, and skills. Themes of social justice and social welfare are addressed, as the course defines generalist social work practice and explores the ways in which social workers are able to help others in a variety of practice settings.
