Catalog description
Prerequisites: Reading Proficiency and one of the following math requirements: ACT math score of 27+ within two years plus either high school trigonometry or precalculus with a grade of "C" or better MTH141 with a grade of "C" or better MTH134/134H with a grade of "C" or better and MTH133 with a grade of "C" or better Accuplacer Next Gen advanced algebra and functions score of 265+ within two years Accuplacer Next Gen trigonometry score of 46+ within two years Linear Algebra is concerned with the study of matrices, vectors, vector spaces, linear transformations, Eigenvalues, and Eigenvectors. Properties of the matrix and matrix operations are studied to develop it as a means to solve mathematical problems from a linear algebra point of view. This course also covers the matrix as an application to solve problems that arise in other disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. A graphing calculator is required. (F)
